Air Canada: New Contact Centre Leads Being Introduced in Toronto and Montreal

August 21, 2023 at 10:39 AM

The Bargaining Committee was approached by Air Canada in June 2023 to discuss the re-introduction of Leads to the Toronto and Montreal Contact Centres.  The Union supports increasing the number of Leads, but not to increase Leads in one location only to reduce them elsewhere in the country.

Therefore, the union made it clear we would only support the company’s proposal if the company provided written guarantees that the Leads in the Saint John Contact Centre would remain in place as they are.

The company intends to move forward with their “proof of concept” to re-introduce Leads in Toronto and Montreal, regardless of the Union’s support.  This does not violate the Collective Agreement, but the Bargaining Committee will closely monitor the implementation of the “proof of concept” with the collaboration of the affected District Chairs, and we stand ready to ensure our members’ rights are protected.
