The Unifor Local 2002 Executive Board is pleased to announce that
Martin Melanson from Air Canada - District 508 (YSJ – Contact Centre) has been selected as Group Insurance Disability Income Plan (GIDIP) Trustee for the Atlantic Region.
The Executive Board would like to thank
Marie Doyle who is retiring from Air Canada and the position of Atlantic Region GIDIP Trustee. Throughout her term as a Trustee,
Marie was dedicated and passionate about her responsibilities to the membership and respectfully carried out her duties as a member of the GIDIP Board of Trustees.
The Unifor 2002 Health and Welfare Trust is a trustee plan that is operated at arm’s length from the Local Union and is overseen by Trustees appointed by the Unifor 2002 Executive Board. Each GIDIP Trustee is appointed for a three-year term, however, these terms are staggered among the Regions. The purpose of staggering terms is so that we do not lose the skill set, experience, and training of the Trustees in the same year.
