AIR CANADA FLIGHT OPS MEMBERS: Bargaining Update # 2 - May 29

mai 29, 2025 à 13:16

On May 20th and 21st, we met with the company to continue discussions on non-monetary issues. We had productive conversations, addressing concerns raised by our membership as well as understanding the company's perspective.

We also discussed current challenges and explored potential solutions. Regarding the training plan within the crew scheduling function, the company has agreed to post overtime opportunities to help increase staffing levels, enabling training to proceed.

We remain in the early stages of bargaining. Once non-monetary matters are concluded, we will begin discussions on monetary items, which we expect to be detailed and extensive.  We are awaiting confirmation of the next bargaining dates and will share them with the membership once scheduled.

In the interim, we will be closely monitoring the company’s adherence to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Here Are Several Important Reminders:
  1. Unauthorized Agreements:
We are aware that some members have engaged in "back-door" or informal agreements with the company. We strongly caution against this. These actions undermine our collective bargaining efforts, complicate negotiations, and signal to the company that adherence to the CBA is optional. Unity and consistency are critical to our strength.
  2. Right to Representation:
All members have the right to a union representative or witness during any meeting with management. We encourage you to exercise this right without hesitation.
  3. Reporting Changes:
If you experience any significant changes to your job functions, shift times, or any other out-of-the-ordinary developments, please contact a union representative immediately.
  4. No Side Deals:
Please refrain from any individual negotiations with the company outside the formal bargaining process. While it may seem appealing in the short term, such actions weaken our collective position.
  5. Professional Conduct:
Continue to maintain professionalism in all your interactions with fellow members, colleagues, and other groups, whether unionized or not.
Thank you for your attention and your continued cooperation and professionalism.
