BARGAINING UPDATE: Your bargaining committee wants to provide a brief update on our current progress. As many of you know, the bargaining process has been lengthy, but this should not be a cause for concern. In fact, a longer process often reflects strong, principled negotiations, and that is exactly the approach we are taking on your behalf.
We have met with Air Canada several times, including our most recent bargaining session during the week of February 16 in Toronto. Over the past months, both the union and the company have dedicated significant time to addressing non-monetary issues, with the shared intent of resolving these items before moving on to monetary discussions. Air Canada has now indicated that it is ready to proceed to the monetary phase, and we expect to move forward as soon as all parties approve the upcoming dates.
As we continue this work, it is important to remember the context:
- We have had no contractual improvements in 10 years.
- We have seen minimal monetary gains in that same period.
- We have been falling far behind inflation for a decade.
- Our roles and responsibilities have increased year after year without corresponding improvements.
These realities do not discourage us; they motivate us. They reinforce the need for meaningful change and strengthen our resolve to secure improvements that reflect the value and professionalism you bring to this workplace every day.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU:
This bargaining round is taking longer because we are committed to addressing the issues that matter most to you. Your bargaining committee remains focused, united, and determined to achieve real gains—gains that recognize your work, your expertise, and the pressures you have faced for far too long.
UPCOMING DATES:
We will share confirmed bargaining dates with you as soon as they are finalized. Thank you for your patience and solidarity. Your solidarity is our greatest strength at the table.
Together, we will continue to push forward. Stay united. Stay strong. Stay engaged.
