Air Canada CES: Update regarding lump sum deposit

Air Canada CES: Update regarding lump sum deposit

March 10, 2025 at 5:00 PM

Dear Members,

Many members were surprised to see that the lump sum (in lieu of pay increase) was missing from their pay stub on their most recent pay document.

For the past few months, the Unifor Bargaining Committee has been in constant communication with the Company. Two branches had assured us that the monies would be deposited on the March 12th pay, while another had communicated on the March 26th pay.

Despite our efforts for advance planning, the lump sum did not appear on the pay details for the March 12, 2025 deposit.

On March 6th, the Bargaining Committee reached out to the Company as the lump sum payout was not reflected as we had been advised.

We are delighted to announce that the Company has committed in writing to issue an off-cycle pay for the lump sum to be deposited on March 12th.

As per our October 16th 2024 communication, this only applies to members at a $31.17 pay rate on or before December 31st 2024.

Deductions are applicable as the lump sum is in lieu of a pay raise and processed as wages.

In Solidarity,

Unifor/Air Canada Bargaining Committee,
Soppo Gomez Gnali – Pacific Region & Bargaining Committee Chairperson
Tracy Rector – Atlantic Region
Ada Zampini – Eastern Region
Brett Grassam – Central Region
Marilyne Boettger – Western Region
Tammy Moore – President, Unifor Local 2002
Frances Galambosy – Unifor National Service Representative, Airline Sector
