Air Canada Women’s Advocate Appointments - Western Region
April 1, 2025 at 4:00 PM
We are pleased to share updates regarding the Women’s Advocate roles within the Western region at Air Canada. These appointments reflect the ongoing dedication and commitment of our members in supporting their peers.
We welcome
Lisa Shaw
from Customer Relations – Calgary as the new
Western Region Women’s Advocate
and
Carolyn Steendam
from Edmonton Airport as the
Western Region Alternate Women’s Advocate
. They will be stepping into the role previously held by
Leanne Sookram
from Winnipeg Airport. Lisa and Carolyn will continue the important work of amplifying the voices of our membership and strengthening our union.
We extend our sincere gratitude to
Leanne Sookram
for her years of dedicated service as the Western Region Women’s Advocate. Her mentorship and commitment have inspired and empowered countless sisters to get involved, leaving a lasting impact on both our union and our communities. While she may be moving on from this role, Leanne will always be a strong advocate for women in any capacity she takes on.
Please join us in
congratulating Lisa and Carolyn
on their new roles and in thanking
Leanne
for her dedication and leadership.
In Solidarity,
Unifor Local 2002 Executive Board
