CAW Local 2002 Members from most CLS classifications attended an important information session last week. The session gave Members an opportunity to discuss workplace issues with CAW Leadership during a non-bargaining year.

District Chairperson Lilian Chen, Vice President Tim Cheung and Executive Assistant Darryl Draeger provided information on how grievances were settled regarding overtime bypass and lead appointments. Members also brought forward and discussed their complaints regarding company charging for Christmas parties and frustrations over transfers and vacancies. Members were also reminded about their duties and rights regarding workplace harassment.

"This information session was an opportunity for Members and Leadership to openly discuss significant issues within the workplace," said Darryl Draeger. "Our hope was that we were able to provide answers and give positive direction in an effort to improve workplace conditions."

Lilian Chen confirmed her ‘open-door policy’ and encouraged members to continue raising their issues and thanked them for their attendance.
