Unifor and CLS Catering reach tentative agreement

August 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM

A new tentative collective agreement has been reached between Unifor and CLS Catering Services, averting a strike for 225 members at the Vancouver-based company.

"This was a tough round of negotiations, but I am proud of the determination and expertise of our Unifor bargaining team to get a fair deal for our CLS members," said Tammy Moore, President of Local 2002. "It was not easy as strike action loomed over talks, but your Unifor team achieved the main goals for the membership."

Unifor members at CLS Catering Services provide in-flight food catering for a number of airlines operating from Vancouver International Airport including Korean Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Lufthansa.

Talks between the Union and the Employer began March 23, 2022. By June 17, the parties were unable to reach a tentative agreement that could be presented and recommend to the membership.

With a tentative agreement now reached by the union and the employer, Unifor members will now have the opportunity to vote on the terms of the contract. A MEMBERSHIP MEETING and VOTE is scheduled for TUESDAY, AUGUST 16, 2022 where details of the tentative agreement will be reviewed by Unifor Representatives.

Your Unifor Bargaining Committee unanimously recommends this tentative agreement.

Your Unifor Committee wishes to thank everyone for their patience and support during negotiations.
