Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that the
membership of CLS Catering Services in Vancouver have ratified a new three-year
collective agreement by eighty-seven per cent..
Highlights of the
new agreement include:

Wage increases of 2% for 3 years (at the top
rate of the progression scale)
-
A guarantee of 35 new permanent positions
(broken down as follows):
› 15 at ratification
› 10 on May 1, 2015
› 10 on May 1, 2016 (to be posted)

New classifications will be created, including
New Production Assistant, and Fridge Checker
-
An agreement to implement a streamlined shift
bid process has been accepted by both CLS Catering and Unifor
-
Shorter probation period
-
Improvements to the vision care benefit
› amount to be increased to $250 effective May 1, 2015
› up to $300 effective May 1, 2016
-
Casual employees will now have a guarantee of
10-hours between shifts up from the previous language of only 8-hours
"I wish to congratulate the membership of CLS
Catering Services for ratifying their new collective agreement," said Local 2002
President Cheryl Robinson. "The improved language in this new three-year
contract is a reflection of the bargaining committee’s efforts at the
negotiating table and they should be commended on a job well done."
Unifor Local 2002 represents nearly 400 members at CLS Catering in Vancouver,
British Columbia. Members provide in-flight catering for a number of airlines
operating out of Vancouver Airport including Cathay Pacific and Lufthansa.
