Canadian North AME’s: Recap of the recent Base Proposal Meetings

Canadian North AME’s: Recap of the recent Base Proposal Meetings

April 2, 2019 at 12:05 PM
Your Bargaining Committee recently completed four-days of base Proposal meetings in Iqaluit, Yellowknife, Edmonton, and Calgary. We like to apologize to the members in Iqaluit and Yellowknife for the last-minute logistical changes. We were set to deliver these meetings at the base locations, however, the Company kiboshed our plans and we were forced to host these meetings offsite. In spite of these challenges, the Proposal meetings were successful.

We would like to thank the members who attended and participated in the Proposal meetings. There were extensive discussions and feedback about the issues that are important to the members such as wage increases, contract language, benefits, and job security. As a result of the bargaining surveys and proposal meetings, this process has allowed your Bargaining Committee to have a clear understanding of the membership needs and priorities on key issues which will be represented at the bargaining table.

The Committee will be meeting in Edmonton on April 24 to 25, 2019 to develop and finalize the bargaining proposals that will be put forward to the Company.  We will ensure to keep you informed of any updates as they are made available.
