Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) Members Reject Wage Contract Extension

Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) Members Reject Wage Contract Extension

February 11, 2023 at 7:00 PM

Unifor Local 2002 wishes to announce that our Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) members have voted to reject the one-year wage contract extension.  Voting took place on February 10 & 11, in Toronto, and members voted 59 per cent to reject the wage extension.

“This wage contract extension has missed the mark for our members. The GTAA members in Toronto have been serving the general public on the front lines for the past three years during the COVID-19 pandemic.  They are worthy of respect and they deserve more, said Tammy Moore, President Unifor Local 2002”. “For the GTAA to be a Mega Hub, they need to deliver an industry-leading collective agreement that levels up to meet the demands of its employees and the traveling public. I would like to thank all of the GTAA members for demonstrating great interest in their collective agreement and their concern for their future.”

The Bargaining Committee will be consulting with the membership in the coming weeks and we will review our negotiation strategy moving forward.  We plan to meet in May with the Company to officially open negotiations.   In the interim, we have an existing collective agreement in which all provisions remain in place until July 2023.
