Unifor opens talks with GTAA

On Tuesday, Unifor formally opened bargaining with the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA). This was a preliminary bargaining session where the parties exchanged proposals and also reviewed timetables for additional meeting dates.

"The Unifor bargaining committee is eager to negotiate a fair and equitable agreement for our hard working members at the GTAA," said Cheryl Robinson, President of Unifor Local 2002. "Our committee has been preparing for many months and is ready for any challenges that may lie ahead."

Jerry Dias, Unifor National President led the days' discussion and stated that he is confident in the abilities of this committee. He also conveyed to management that he is prepared to return to the bargaining table and assist the committee if required.

Unifor Local 2002 represents more than 1,000 members at the GTAA who are responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Toronto Pearson airport.
