GardaWorld Bargaining Update

June 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM

Your Unifor Bargaining Committee continued negotiations with the Employer this week in the presence of Conciliator, Michael Lalonde – Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The Union has taken ample time to ensure the needs and wants of the membership have been accurately communicated to the Employer in order to achieve our objectives at the bargaining table.

While most of the meetings have been productive, we have experienced some tense moments dealing with some of the more complex issues, but we have still managed to progress forward in the process.

We are currently addressing our monetary proposals. Given the membership’s monetary "asks," we expect this component to take a little more time than anticipated. We will be meeting again July 4th and 5th to continue discussions and we remain committed to achieving the best possible contract for the membership.

Bargaining – especially when nearing the conclusion – can be a very volatile and an ever-changing process that has the potential to pivot at any moment. We continue to ask for your support and patience until our next update.

In Solidarity,

Your Unifor Bargaining Committee
