Jazz CSA/ACS Members: Notice of Base Closures: (YBG, YUY, YZV)

Jazz CSA/ACS Members: Notice of Base Closures: (YBG, YUY, YZV)

January 8, 2026 at 5:33 PM

On January 6, 2026, the Union received formal written notification from Jazz regarding the pending closure of our bases in Bagotville (YBG), Rouyn-Noranda (YUY), and Sept-Iles (YZV).

What We Know
Air Canada has recently released its Summer 2026 schedule, which includes an extended partnership with PAL Airlines. This strategic shift focuses on regional flying operations in New Brunswick and Quebec, positioning PAL as the sole provider for these three stations for the foreseeable future.

Because there is no scheduled Jazz flying in these locations moving forward, Jazz has informed Unifor that these bases will close effective midnight, April 30, 2026.

Our Commitment to You
The Union is extremely disappointed with this decision. We are deeply concerned about the impact this will have on our members, your families, and the communities you serve.

Our immediate priorities are:
  • Information: Ensuring every impacted member receives the necessary details to make informed decisions about their future.
  • Transparency: Providing updates as soon as new information becomes available from the company.
  • Support: Scheduling direct calls with all affected employees to discuss next steps and rights under the collective agreement.
Next Steps
We encourage you to contact your bargaining representative with any immediate questions or concerns.  We stand with our members in YBG, YUY, and YZV. Your bargaining committee is committed to navigating this difficult transition with you and ensuring your rights are fully protected.

In solidarity,
Your Unifor bargaining committee
