Jazz CSA/ACS New Bargaining Committee meets

Jazz CSA/ACS New Bargaining Committee meets

June 16, 2010 at 12:00 PM
The newly elected bargaining committee for Jazz Customer and Aircraft Services (CSA/ACS) attended their first meeting in Toronto on June 15, 2010. Ken White, representing the Pacific region, was elected Chairperson.

Joined by Local 2002 President Leslie Dias and Executive Assistant, Ashley Watkins, the group discussed ways in which they can better serve and communicate with their membership.

Jazz pilots and flight attendants (represented by ALPA and the CFAU respectively) are now in a legal position to strike. One of the first orders of business was to discuss the impact a potential strike could have on the CSA/ACS membership.  As per the Canada Labour code, the pilots and flight attendants are required to give 72 hours notice if they decide to go on strike.  If they exercise that option, some members of the CSA/ACS bargaining unit will be placed on off- duty status, depending on their work location. It is important to become familiar with Article 10.06.11 of the collective agreement.

We will continue to keep you informed of any developments.

In solidarity,

Your Jazz, CSA/ACS Bargaining Committee,
