It's a New Year and the Jazz CSA/ACS bargaining committee were united in
their resolution to make progress as negotiations reconvened in Vancouver,
January 15-17, 2013.
This was the committee's first opportunity to address the monetary aspect of
the proposals. Addressing the company, CAW national representative Joel Fournier
reminded them that this is not concessionary bargaining; any changes made to
this agreement should be given full value on its return to the membership. In
addition, discussions on the creation and retention of full-time work were given
due attention.
Some of the issues that were raised include:
-
The capacity purchase agreement (CPA) contract with Air Canada (in effect
until Dec 31, 2020)
-
Air Canada’s downsizing of 2013 summer operation, resulting in 70 less
departures
-
Direct competitor Sky Regional as a threat to job retention for Jazz
Jazz CSA/ACS bargaining resumes in Toronto on February 4 – 7, 2013. We will
continue to keep you informed as talks progress.
In solidarity,
Your Jazz CSA/ACS bargaining committee:
