Jazz Customer & Aircraft Service Members: Update on Newfoundland and Labrador grievances

May 23, 2024 at 4:00 PM

Further to our April 4, 2024 communication, Unifor would like to provide an update on the ongoing grievance procedures for those members in Newfoundland and Labrador. These grievances pertain to Jazz’s decision to lay off Unifor Local 2002 members in Gander, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Deer Lake due to the Air Canada’s decision to make changes to its services at these locations.

The mediation between the parties occurred on May 7, 2024 with Arbitrator Tom Hodges overseeing the discussions. However, the parties were unable to reach a mutually acceptable resolution, leaving a final outcome unresolved. As a result, Arbitrator Hodges will render a final decision regarding this matter in the near future.

Once this decision is rendered, Unifor will communicate the details with membership.
