As of today - Monday, November 23, 2020 - the Unifor Local 2002 headquarters office will be closed under the direction of the Government of Ontario. The headquarters office, located in Ontario's Region of Peel, has entered a lockdown phase (level: grey) to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and ultimately save lives.

Members should not visit the Local 2002 office during this lockdown period. The health and safety of the membership, our staff, and our community are one of our utmost priorities. As the current end of the Government-mandated lockdown coincides with the Christmas closure of Local 2002 headquarters, the office will remain closed and re-open on Monday, January 25, 2021, taking into account guidance from the Government of Ontario.

"Unifor Local 2002 office staff and representatives have worked diligently throughout the pandemic to continue servicing the membership, and will continue to do so despite the lockdown," said Don Ross, Acting Unifor Local 2002 President. "Even in light of positive COVID-19 vaccine news, we continue to face what has been an unimaginable period of uncertainty, struggles, and hardships for the industry and especially our members. I would like to acknowledge and thank all those that are required to report each day to their workplaces to keep Canada’s aviation sector flying."

The office closure will not impact members’ ability to access core services that the union provides. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your workplace representatives or the Local 2002 headquarters office. The Local 2002 phone lines, voice messages, and emails are being monitored remotely by our staff.

We will continue to provide updates via the Local 2002 website, e-news, and on our social media channels. Additionally, please remain connected and follow the latest COVID-19 developments of your region’s Public Health Agency and the Government of Canada.

Working together and supporting each other, we will get through this. Please stay safe and be kind to one another.
