We invite you to join us in a powerful, nationwide event that is growing in every city each year. On October 5th, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time (with adjustments for other time zones), participants across the country will walk or run together in solidarity.
TEARS to HOPE, she is somebody, is an Indigenous-led organization dedicated to supporting families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous women and girls. Our mission is to honour and remember their lives while providing their families with a safe, healing space.
From 2009 to 2021, 490 Indigenous women and girls were victims of homicide. The over-representation of Indigenous girls in the child welfare system is a significant factor in their vulnerability to violence and exploitation; they make up more than half of the total population in foster care, despite only representing 7% of the total population of children. These missing and murdered women and girls are daughters, sisters, mothers, partners, and friends. They deserve to be recognized, remembered, and respected.
Please mark your calendars for this important event and join us in walking or running to honour these lives. For more details on specific locations and event information please

If you want to volunteer or get involved, please contact your regional vice president. All are welcome.
In solidarity,
Tammy Moore - President – Unifor Local 2002
