PASS District 266: Post Membership Meeting Update

PASS District 266: Post Membership Meeting Update

December 5, 2025 at 6:00 PM

Dear PASS Members,

Thank you to everyone who joined the recent membership and leadership meetings. We had some real and honest conversations, and they were needed. These talks helped all of us learn something. That includes the membership, the Local 2002 leadership team and the National leadership. Everyone walked away with a clearer understanding of how we can communicate better, represent members better and follow up in a way that keeps people connected to their union.

We want to make sure every member feels informed and part of what is happening. Below is a basic update on the main questions that came up.

1. How do members access the union, and what are the responsibilities of each representative?

Many of you asked for a clearer explanation of who does what and how to reach the right people. Local 2002 President Tammy Moore shared a flow chart that shows the full structure for PASS members, starting with the membership and moving through District 266 leadership, Local 2002 staff and National leadership.

2. When will regular membership meetings and leadership meetings happen?

A lot of people asked for a regular schedule so everyone can plan ahead. We are currently setting up a full calendar for membership meetings, leadership meetings and District 266 updates. Once the dates are confirmed, they will be shared with the whole membership.

3. What is happening with bargaining?

Members asked for the latest bargaining information. You can read the most recent update from Local 2002 at the link below.

More updates will be sent as soon as new information becomes available.

4. What is Maintenance of Activities and why is it important?

This topic also came up at the meetings. Maintenance of Activities is part of the legal process under the Canada Labour Code. It helps protect both safety and workers’ rights during bargaining. It is also a required step before workers can take any legal job action, even if a strike vote is held.

Here is the earlier update that members received.

We will also be sending out a new guide soon that explains the process in simple terms and why it matters for PASS as bargaining continues.

Thank you again for your honesty and participation. Your feedback helps guide the work ahead. If you have any questions, please reach out to your District 266 leadership team.

In solidarity,
Unifor Local 2002
