Paladin Airport Security Services (PASS) Members: Possible Edmonton Staffing requests

Paladin Airport Security Services (PASS) Members: Possible Edmonton Staffing requests

June 12, 2026 at 7:00 PM

Sisters, Brothers & Siblings,

It has been brought to our attention that CAWU in Edmonton is planning a peaceful rally next week.

If any of our members are approached and asked to travel to Edmonton to assist with operations, we would like to remind everyone of the communication issued by Local 2002 on February 11, 2026, regarding similar requests. Click here for the message.

At that time, the Union reminded members that while we all take pride in supporting our employer and assisting where possible, we must also be mindful of the impact that cross-based staffing requests can have on workers exercising their rights and on the collective strength of workers across the industry.

While the union understands that our members wish to support the operation and assist their employer where possible, we must also remind everyone that Unifor Local 2002 is currently in contract negotiations for our YYC PASS members.

Our position remains unchanged. Just as we would not want workers from other locations brought into our base during a legal labour dispute or job action, we should be cautious about placing ourselves in a position where our actions could unintentionally undermine the efforts of fellow aviation workers who are exercising their legal rights.

If you are contacted regarding travel to Edmonton and have any questions, please reach out to your District leadership.

In Solidarity,
Beverly Elfner – District Chair/Chair of Bargaining Committee
Tammy Moore – President, Unifor Local 2002
Harold Bateman – Assistant to the Unifor Local 2002 President
