Solidarity in Our Fight for Basic Rights at Paladin Security

July 8, 2024 at 1:14 PM

Dear Unifor Local 2002 Paladin Members,

Thank you all for your unwavering support and solidarity in our ongoing fight for your fundamental human rights at the Calgary International Airport.

On July 5, 2024, we stood together in a powerful rally to demand what should never be in question: access to bathroom breaks and water. Our actions sent a clear message to your employer, Paladin Airport Security Services, that we will not compromise on basic human rights. These are not merely conveniences but essential needs that ensure your well-being and ability to perform your duties effectively.

Access to water and washrooms is one of the most basic things we need in a workplace. This is not just about decency; it's a matter of your human rights. Every day, Unifor members work hard to keep passengers and the Calgary airport safe, and you deserve respect for that.

Your presence and participation in the rally demonstrated our collective strength and commitment to safer working conditions. It is through our unity that we can achieve the respect and dignity you deserve. Your employer's billion-dollar contract does not absolve them of their responsibility to provide a safe and humane working environment.

We will continue to stand together, fight together, and ensure that our voices are heard. Thank you for your dedication and for showing that when we unite, we cannot be ignored.

In Solidarity,

Your Unifor Leadership Team
