We want to update you on a recent Medical/Sick and Personal Leave for the period of April 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. As we are all aware, there were many issues stemming from the transition from Garda to PASS on April 1, 2024. Your Union has been diligently working with PASS to find a resolution to the issue of Medical/Sick and Personal Leave allotment for 2024.
Unfortunately, there were complications tied to the transfer of information from Garda to PASS. This resulted in PASS not having the ability to ensure the information that they had for each employee was correct.
In the interim, the new agreement for managing sick and personal leave was put into place prematurely. Although there was an agreement in principle to resolve the Leave issue, the final paperwork had not been fully signed off, which led to some confusion and discrepancies with your allotted sick and personal leave time.
We understand that this situation has caused some confusion, and we wanted to ensure that you are aware that the issue has been resolved. We have secured an agreement with PASS for the period of April 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, inclusive for all active employees.
