Perimeter Aviation Important Reminder: 75-Minute Minimum Notice Requirement

Perimeter Aviation FA Group

Unifor Local 2002, together with Perimeter Aviation, would like to remind all members of the importance of adhering to the minimum 75-minute notice requirement when you are unable to report for duty.

As stated in the joint union-employer communication on February 1, 2025, all employees must contact the Perimeter Operations Contact Centre at least 75-minutes before your scheduled report time. This applies to all work assignments, including flight duty, reserve, and ground assistance shifts.

Why This Matters

  • Providing timely notice ensures smooth operations and minimizes disruption for both employees and passenger.

  • It helps avoid the implementation of a mandatory punch-in/punch-out system for all shifts.

  • Failure to provide the required notice may result in disciplinary action, which both Unifor and Perimeter Aviation wish to avoid.

Examples

  • Reserve Shift: If your reserve shift is scheduled from 0500 to 1700, you must notify Operations by 0345 if you are unable to report.

  • Flight Assignment: If your first scheduled flight is JV105, departing YWG at 0700 (0600 Report time), you must notify Operations by 0445 if you are unable to report.

  • Ground Assistance: If your Ground Assistance shift starts at 0600, you must notify Operations by 0445 if you are unable to report.

Contact Information

  • The Operations Contact Centre is open 24-hours by phone or by email at [email protected]. If you know in advance (e.g., the night before) that you cannot report for work, please notify Operations as early as possible.

Your cooperation ensures operational efficiency and supports fairness for all members. If you have questions, please contact your Flight Attendant Manager or your Unifor District Chairperson.

As this bulletin is published on September 30, we also recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the survivors of residential schools and remembers those children who never returned home. Also known as Orange Shirt Day, it serves as a reminder of the atrocities committed and the ongoing responsibility, we all share in reconciliation. Unifor encourages all members to reflect, participate in community events where possible, and continue to amplify the message that Every Child Matters.
