Porter Airlines - Ottawa Members: Bargaining Update for April 5, 2024

April 5, 2024 at 1:17 PM

On Thursday, March 28th, negotiations commenced between Porter and Unifor. The Union began by presenting its initial non-monetary proposal package and engaging in discussions with the employer regarding various pertinent items.

A significant development in the bargaining process is the agreement between both parties to convene in person in Ottawa for two, two-day sessions in May. This indicates a commitment from both sides to actively pursue negotiations and work towards reaching an agreement.

The primary objective of your bargaining committee remains to negotiate a first agreement that can be ratified by most of the membership. Recognizing the importance of solidarity, the committee is dedicated to representing the priorities and mandates set forth by the membership throughout the negotiation process.

It's crucial to remember that this collective agreement will directly impact your working conditions for its duration. Your support and solidarity with the bargaining committee are vital as they navigate discussions with the employer on behalf of the membership.

While specific details about negotiations are not disseminated to the membership, rest assured that your committee will provide regular updates as negotiations progress. Your involvement and solidarity are key elements in ensuring a successful outcome for all parties involved.
