Unifor Local 2002 is proud to represent 70 ramp operations workers at Porter
Airlines at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
At a membership meeting on Friday October 31, 2014 Local 2002 President
Cheryl Robinson, executive assistant Theresa Amicarelli and national
representative Caroline Haddad welcomed the agents, disseminated information on
their new union, Unifor and heard their concerns.
"Our members working for Porter joined the union for respect and fairness in
the workplace,” said Cheryl Robinson. "Unifor Local 2002? and its 10,000 members
look forward to working with the newly elected committee to achieve this goal."
Nominations for bargaining committee candidates closed last week. At the
meeting, members elected Eddy Candia, Courtney Chick and Greg Hume to represent
them as they prepare to negotiate their first collective agreement. Surveys to
determine the needs and priorities of workers have been distributed and
returned. The next step for the newly elected committee will be to evaluate the
surveys and schedule proposal meetings for the membership.
Local 2002 Executive Assistant Theresa Amicarelli and National Representative
Joel Fournier look forward to working with the bargaining committee in upcoming
negotiations.
