Your union bargaining committee is inviting you to participate in one of two virtual Zoom meetings scheduled for next Friday – February 4, 2022. At these meetings, you will receive an update on the negotiations; more specifically on the employers' offer(s). During these meetings, you will have the opportunity to vote on the offer(s) and also on a strike mandate.
A strike mandate is required to make the employer understand that we are strong and that we remain united in our effort to obtain a fair deal. The decision to meet with members was made following your bargaining committee's meetings with the company on January 26, 27 and 28, 2022. The committee faces a number of challenges in reaching a fair agreement and we are concerned about the slow progress of the negotiations. The top priority of your bargaining committee is to get the best possible contract for you and your colleagues. But we cannot do this alone.
We need you to be engaged and informed to help us reach a fair deal for all. One way to do this is to support your committee and attend one of the virtual meetings scheduled for Friday, February 4, 2022.
We strongly encourage you to inform as many colleagues as possible of these meetings and encourage them to attend as well.
Members are strongly encouraged to attend one of these important meetings via Zoom as follows:
