Subject: change to union dues calculation
Dear Members,
Hilton Saint John Hotel (the “employer”) will be making an amendment to the existing dues formula that will impact Unifor members at District 520. This change will impact all members working less than forty hour per week.
Beginning May 25, 2025, part-time and full-time employees will now be deducted the same union dues percentage (based on their total number of hours worked) per week. The new dues deduction will be calculated at 1.35% of total hours worked, with the exception of overtime and gratuities not calculated into the formula.
Gross pay x 0.135 (1.35%) = amount deducted each pay period
Note: If you have no hours scheduled, there will be no union dues deducted with this new formula.
Overall, this new formula will result in less money deducted from each pay period.
