Your Unifor bargaining team met virtually three times over the past two weeks, in order to finalize bargaining proposals. The Union has requested to open bargaining on March 10th, with additional dates on April 11, 12, and 13. However, we are still waiting for confirmation from the Employer.
Although the preference is always to negotiate in person, in order to expedite the process and secure your first collective agreement, the Union has agreed to meet virtually for this session. During the initial bargaining session, the parties will exchange proposals and complete a basic overview of what is included in the package as presented. We will work to secure additional dates to continue the bargaining process after March 10, 2022. An update will be provided to you when we have more information.
Your bargaining committee is aware that many new members have joined the bargaining unit since first becoming certified in late 2021. We encourage all new members to speak to any member of the bargaining team and ask questions. STAYING INFORMED DURING NEGOTIATIONS
At key times during negotiations, your Unifor Committee will communicate important updates via e-news. It will be imperative as we head through the negotiation process to be informed and engaged.
