Earlier today, Unifor concluded ratification meetings and a subsequent vote of a new offer for Local 2002 members employed with Swissport in Montréal. This comes after the initial offer was rejected on May 16, 2023 by a margin of 55 percent.
Members have been very clear that they are not at all satisfied with this last employer offer, but they reluctantly voted in favour of accepting the deal by a majority vote.
Unifor would like to thank all Local 2002 members at District 418 for supporting their bargaining committee throughout this difficult set of negotiations. This new contract will be in effect for less than one year and will expire on May 31, 2024.
Unifor hopes that we will be in a better negotiating position at the beginning of 2024.
