Following the Ratification Meeting held on September 16th, we want to provide you with an update regarding the implementation of the new wage grid and other relevant changes.
During the meeting, it was communicated that the new wage grid would take effect from the date of ratification. However, please be informed that it will take a minimum of two pay periods for the updated wage rates to reflect on your pay. Rest assured; all wages will be paid retroactively from September 16th. We understand your eagerness to see the pay increase reflected in your pay stubs as soon as possible.
However, the company needs this time to update its payroll systems and ensure a smooth transition. We kindly request your patience and understanding during this process and ask that you refrain from repeatedly seeking updates from the Toronto management team regarding the implementation timeline.
Furthermore, all language changes outlined in the ratified agreement are effective as of the date of ratification – September 16, 2023. To ensure the correct application of the agreement, the Unifor bargaining committee and the company's management will arrange a joint training session.
