Swissport Vancouver: Collective Agreement Ratified

Swissport Vancouver: Collective Agreement Ratified

March 29, 2018 at 2:45 PM
Through hard work, the Bargaining Committee of Swissport Vancouver were able to reach a tentative agreement with the assistance of Federal Mediator Susan Fisher. The new Collective Agreement was ratified on Thursday, March 28, 2018 in Vancouver by a narrow margin of 55 percent.

Membership turnout for voting was low compared with previous ratification meetings, we had a total of 176 members that came to cast their vote on March 28. Although this was a challenging time for this set of negotiations, your Bargaining Committee negotiated an agreement that provides for improvements to the wage scale, increases to their RRSP and maintained the preferential bidding system that these members fought to preserve.

“This was a challenging set of negotiations and we are proud to have addressed the needs of this membership. I would like to commend the entire Bargaining Committee for their perseverance through this arduous set of negotiations”, said Euila Leonard President of Local 2002.

Ratification votes are as follows:
YES Votes: 96
  NO Votes:    79
  Spoiled Votes: 1

The Bargaining Committee would like to thank the entire membership who took the time to attend the ratification meetings and ratified this new three-year Collective Agreement.
