Swissport Vancouver Members Reach Tentative Agreement-Ratification Meetings scheduled for August 22

Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that late last night a negotiated agreement was reached with the employer - Swissport Vancouver, averting a potential strike. A key issue for our members was monetary – wages in which members had voted 100 percent in favour of a strike if a new agreement could not be reached at the negotiating table.  Details of the Unifor-Swissport Vancouver tentative agreement will be presented at the ratification meetings on Monday, August 22. “After days of conciliation, I believe that the negotiation agreement reached late last night is enough to reverse the decision of asking our members to strike on August 31^st, 2022, said Tammy Moore, President Unifor Local 2002”. “This agreement includes an improved wage offer and language improvements that are reasonable and that recognize the significant contributions that our Swissport Vancouver members make every day in the aviation industry.  Special thank you to the Bargaining Committee for their fierce determination in reaching this new deal that they recommend unanimously and to the Swissport Vancouver members for placing their support and confidence in their union.”
