Swissport Vancouver Members: Strike Vote Meeting – September 22, 2025

This bulletin outlines the strike vote membership meetings scheduled in person for September 22, 2025, with the following details:

Here’s an overview of the strike vote process:

1.  Membership Meetings:

• Date: Monday, September 22nd, 2025
• Location: Domestic terminal building, level 4 - Room 4106
• Purpose: Members will discuss and be asked to take a strike vote. These meetings are for discussing the strike, addressing member questions, and explaining the voting process.

2.  Voting Process:

• Online Voting: Members attending the meetings will have the opportunity to cast their vote after the discussions. Voting is also available for members who cannot attend the meetings.
• Voting Deadline: Online will run from 1030 to 6:00 PM PST on September 22.

3.  Purpose of the Strike Vote:

•  A strike vote determines whether members authorize the union to call a strike if negotiations fail. It does not mean a strike will happen immediately but empowers the union to take action if needed.

4.  Next Steps:

•  After the vote, results will determine if the strike mandate is approved.
•  If approved, the union may use the mandate as leverage in negotiations or proceed with strike action if necessary.

These very important meetings will give members an opportunity to get an update on the status of negotiations, to ask questions, and ultimately, give the bargaining committee a strong mandate when (and if) they return to the bargaining table.
