Swissport – Toronto Members: Bargaining Update # 3- June 28, 2023

June 28, 2023 at 1:20 PM

We would like to provide you with an update on the bargaining process. The Union and the Company have agreed to meet for bargaining with the Federal conciliator on July 12 and 13. As you may be aware, the bargaining process was temporarily halted due to the decertification process that took place from April to May 2023.

DECERTIFICATION PROCESS – BARGAINING SET TO RESUME

We are pleased to inform you that the application for decertification has been reviewed by the labour board, and it has been determined that it did not meet the required criteria. As a result, we were able to resume negotiations and proceed with the selection of bargaining dates.

Our utmost commitment is to negotiate a collective agreement that truly represents your interests and needs. We understand the significance of this process and the impact it can have on your work environment. Rest assured, we are working diligently to ensure a fair and comprehensive agreement.

During the bargaining process, it is important to note that we cannot disclose specific details or information. However, we want to assure you that we will keep you informed about the progress and any significant developments that arise.  Once a collective agreement has been reached, we will organize ratification meetings where all members will have an opportunity to review and vote on the proposed collective agreement.

We will keep you informed of any further developments as they occur. In the meantime, we encourage all members to continue to support our bargaining team and to stand together in solidarity.
