Vacancy: Interim Pension Communications Representative for Air Canada
 
Unifor Local 2002 requires one (1) Unifor Pension Plan member from the legacy Air Canada Defined Pension Plan to fill the interim position of Pension Communication Representative. As per the Unifor Local 2002 bylaws, the term of office for this position ends on May 31st, 2025
 
The member appointed will be the liaison between Air Canada and Unifor members represented by the Pension Plan and will work with the Air Canada Bargaining Committee and Unifor Local 2002 President.

Duties and responsibilities of the Pension Communication Committee
  • Promote awareness and understanding of the Pension Plans to Unifor members
  • Yearly review of the financial, actuarial, and administrative aspects of the Plans
  • Other administrative duties as presented by the applicable Pension legislation and/or the administrator
  • Provide support and information to the Bargaining Committee
  • Additional duties as may be specified by the Plans, the Bargaining Committee, or the Unifor Local 2002 President.
The duties of the Pension Communications Committee will not include amending provisions of the Pension Plan.

Qualifications
  • Unifor 2002 member in good standing from any Air Canada Unit, (Loyalty, In-Flight, Flight Ops, Mainline).
  • Knowledge and interest in Pension benefits is an asset 
  • Commitment to communicate and share information with Unifor members and all Air Canada Bargaining Committees
  • Must attend a minimum of two meetings per year and be willing to travel.
  • Must be bilingual spoken/written.

The successful candidate will report to the President of Unifor Local 2002.  Only qualified candidates will be interviewed.

The member appointed will be the liaison between Air Canada and Unifor members represented by the Pension Plan and will work with the Air Canada Bargaining Committee and Unifor Local 2002 President.
