We want to provide you with an update regarding negotiations. Your Bargaining Committee opened discussions with CLS Catering on March 26th and 27th and met again on April 15th and 16th. During the initial meetings, we exchanged non-monetary proposals, and in the April meetings, the Union presented the Company with our monetary proposals.
UNIFOR AND COMPANY FILES FOR MEDIATION
We had made significant progress on most of the non-monetary proposals. Still, when we reconvened on May 22nd and 23rd, it became apparent that we would face challenges regarding the monetary proposals. Consequently, both parties have agreed to file for Mediation with the Labour Board to assist us in reaching an agreement if possible. We have secured mediation dates for
July 10th and 11th.
NEXT STEPS – STRIKE VOTE ON JUNE 11, 2024

Membership Meeting and Strike Vote – on June 11th.
In the meantime, we will require our members to attend a membership meeting on June 11th. During this meeting, we will review the outstanding issues and conduct a strike vote. The purpose of the strike vote is to demonstrate to the Company that our members support the Bargaining Committee in achieving a mediated settlement that can be ratified by our members.
Details regarding the location and times of the upcoming membership/strike vote meeting will be communicated once confirmed. We need a strong turnout to show the Company that we are united and committed to achieving a fair agreement.
