Your Unifor Bargaining Committee is inviting all members of EVAS Air to participate in a virtual meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 8th at 13h00 (Newfoundland Time). This meeting was scheduled to provide an update on ongoing contract negotiations, more specifically on the employers' offer. During this meeting, your union will also be conducting a virtual strike vote.
A strike mandate is required in order to make the employer understand that we are united in our position to demand a fair deal. Strike action (for any union) is always the last option if a deal cannot be reached at the bargaining table.
This decision to consult with members was made following your Bargaining Committee's meeting with the employer on September 24, 2024. The Committee has faced a number of challenges in reaching a fair agreement, as well as dealing with an employer that appears to be deliberately slowing progress at the negotiating table.
Unifor’s top priority is to get the best possible contract for you and your colleagues. But we cannot do it alone. We need you to be engaged and informed to help us reach a fair deal for all. One way to support your committee is to attend this meeting.
