Last night, Unifor concluded a second ratification meeting and a subsequent vote of a new contract offer for Local 2002 members employed with EVAS.
This comes after the initial offer was rejected by members on October 18, 2024 by a margin of 53 percent, which triggered the Union to serve a 72-hour strike notice to the employer.
Members have been very clear that they are not at all satisfied with this last employer offer, and reluctantly voted in favour of accepting the deal by a majority vote.
Unifor would like to thank all Local 2002 members at EVAS for supporting their bargaining committee throughout this difficult set of negotiations.
This new contract between Unifor and EVAS will be in effect until February 4, 2027.
