New Tentative Agreement Reached between Unifor and GardaWorld-Calgary Ratification Meetings July 7th

New Tentative Agreement Reached between Unifor and GardaWorld-Calgary Ratification Meetings July 7th

July 6, 2023 at 1:45 PM

Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that a new first tentative agreement was reached with GardaWorld Calgary late July 5th.  As we stated in the previous communication, bargaining is a very live and ever-changing process that can pivot at any time. Following the abrupt break in negotiations late Tuesday night, the Union issued a notice intending to hold a strike vote on Friday, July 7th.

Wednesday morning the Company reached out for another attempt at getting a deal. As you may know, most of the committee had returned to work but were released Wednesday afternoon so that we could resume bargaining.   After many hours and much deliberation, at approximately 2300 MDT Wednesday evening, we reached a tentative agreement that the committee is comfortable and confident meets the needs of the membership.

We ask that you still attend one of the scheduled meetings being held Friday to hear details of the tentative agreement and cast your vote in person!

Your committee thanks you for your continued support and patience throughout this process and are looking forward to presenting the deal at the location and times below.

While we understand this is all happening very quickly, it has been a long process and we are conscious of the memberships’ continued patience and desire to reach a deal.
