The Unifor – Nasittuq Women’s Advocate is a newly negotiated position in the collective agreement between Unifor Local 2002 and Nasittuq. Unifor Local 2002 is accepting applications
for one Women’s Advocate. The Women's Advocate will advocate for the rights, interests, and well-being of women members within our district.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Identifying and addressing issues and concerns specific to women members
- Promoting gender equality and empowerment within the union
- Organizing events, workshops, and campaigns to raise awareness about women's issues
- Collaborating with community organizations and stakeholders on women's rights initiatives

NEW ARTICLE APPENDIX D – WOMEN’S ADVOCATE
- The Union recognizes that female employees may sometimes need to discuss with another woman, matters such as violence or abuse at home or events in the workplace. For this reason, the union appoints the role of a female member to be the Women’s Advocate.
- The Women’s Advocate will be appointed by the Unifor Local 2002 President. The Women’s Advocate will meet with female members as required, discuss problems with them and refer them to the appropriate resources when necessary.
- When a female member requests a meeting in person with the Women’s Advocate at a Company location, the Company will make its best effort to provide access to a private office so that confidentiality can be maintained.
- It is understood that these meetings will occur outside of business hours unless it is an urgent or immediate matter. In the latter case, the employees will ensure to advise their supervisor accordingly.
