Nuance D335: Important Information for Unifor Members

Dear full-time Nuance members,

Unifor is committed to creating safer workplaces, promoting secure employment, advocating for fair wages, and ensuring benefits that guarantee a decent standard of living. As part of this commitment, your union believes in fostering a culture of dignity and mutual respect in the workplace.

Your bargaining committee worked hard to secure the right to a Union representative when meeting with the Company. Unifor strongly encourages you to exercise this right and never meet with a Company representative without a Unifor representative present when a discussion pertaining to discipline is, or could be, taking place. Never give up this right. If you choose not to exercise this legal entitlement, you may be required to sign an acknowledgment to waive this collectively bargained right. Your options of any appeal may be reduced, or may not be available to you at all. DO NOT give up this right.

An employee who is interviewed as the subject of an investigatory investigation that could result in discipline shall have the right to have a union representative present.

An employee shall have the right to have a Union representative present at a disciplinary meeting. At the commencement of the disciplinary meeting, the employee will be advised of the reason for the meeting and the level of discipline or discharge action that will be administered.

As a first point of contact, please reach out to your district chairperson – Katie Makhlouf.
