Your Unifor Bargaining Committee is pleased to announce that a new and first-ever Unifor tentative agreement has been reached with The Nuance Group for the Full-Time members of District 335 at Toronto Pearson Airport. This tentative agreement is subject to a ratification vote by the Unifor membership.

The union and employer convened over the course of 5-months, beginning in January 2025, with the intent of forming a new collective agreement for 135 full time members employed at Nuance Group.
  

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TENTATIVE AGREEMENT INCLUDE

  • Increase to wages in each year of the agreement including 2 increases in the first 12 months

  • Members would receive an increase of between 17.5% to 21% over the life of the agreement

  • Amended wage scale

  • Wage progression in the year you achieve your anniversary

  • Increase window on shift premiums

  • Increase to transportation/parking allowance

  • Added Vision care to your benefits

  • Commitment to explore BA commission pooling

  • Maintaining Lieu Days

  • Annual vacation bidding process

  • Improvements to contract language

    • Layoff/Recall language

    • Transfer language

  • Improved grievance process including expedited arbitration language

  • Paid Time product vendor knowledge training
      

This contract will be in place for a three-year term, expiring September 30, 2028.

  

MEETING DATE AND TIMES

Unifor will holding an in-person information session to review details of the tentative agreement and answer any questions you may have. Meetings will be held as follows:

Saturday, June 21, 2025
Sheraton Gateway Hotel
Terminal 3
Room: P.E. Trudeau
Meeting #1: 1130 - 1330
Meeting #2: 1500 - 1800

  

VOTING PROCESS

Voting will open at 1130 on June 21, 2025, and remain open until 1800 (same day). Members must attend the meeting in order to receive a ballot and participate in the ratification vote.

All members are encouraged to attend the scheduled meetings.

YOUR UNIFOR BARGAINING COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY RECOMMENDS MEMBERS VOTE YES TO THIS TENTATIVE AGREEMENT

  

The 135 Full Time Members at Nuance Duty Free include boutique and warehouse workers who are responsible for a wide range of duties, from cashiers and customer service to roles such as beauty advisors, specialty boutique sales associates, and warehouse personnel.
