Porter Airlines Halifax Members Overwhelmingly Ratify First Three-Year Agreement

Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that, following ratification meetings held today in Halifax, NS, Porter Airlines members in Halifax have voted 94 percent in favour of ratifying their first three-year agreement. This agreement is effective until October 22, 2028, and delivers significant improvements in wages, benefits and workplace protections.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT:

Wage Increases
  • 8.5 percent over 3 years
Lead Premium
  • $2.50 per hour for all leads and for any member upgraded to a Lead role for the day
Ratification Signing Bonus
  • $250.00 for each member to be paid three weeks following ratification
New Roles and Funds:
  • Introduction of a Women’s Advocate role
  • Establishment of a PEL (Paid Education Leave) and Social Justice Fund
  • Expedited Arbitration Process: A trial for an expedited arbitration process has been agreed upon by both parties.

ABOUT PORTER AIRLINES:
Our members work at Stanfield International Airport as Customer Service Representatives, Customer Service Leads, and Customer Service Ambassadors. Our members provide customer service-related functions to the travelling public when flying on Porter flights. These functions include passenger check-in, boarding and securing of flights, ensuring regulatory requirements are met with respect to passenger handling and assisting all Porter passengers with special needs. Unifor Local 2002 represents Porter Airlines members in Toronto (Billy Bishop Airport and Pearson International Airport), Ottawa and Halifax.
