We are pleased to inform you that Unifor Local 2002 has reached a first tentative agreement with Porter Airlines Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) in Ottawa. Negotiations concluded on July 23rd in Toronto after starting in January 2024. Before negotiations, the Bargaining Committee conducted surveys in November and held a virtual general membership meeting on December 20, 2023.
After productive discussions, both parties moved negotiations to Toronto where, on July 23, 2024, we successfully reached a tentative agreement late in the afternoon. Throughout this process, our focus has been on achieving an agreement that meets the needs of our members and positions us strongly for the future.
“We welcomed Porter Airlines Ottawa members to the Unifor family on October 19, 2023. In six months, we were able to reach this new three-year agreement thanks to the dedication of the Bargaining Committee and the support of the members. This new agreement marks a significant milestone, and we are enthusiastic about future opportunities for further enhancements. Our dedicated members working at Ottawa International Airport deserve this recognition for their hard work and for providing exceptional customer service to the travelling public”, said Tammy Moore, President of Unifor Local 2002.
The next step involves ratification by all members at Ottawa International Airport. Details of the tentative agreement will be shared at upcoming ratification meetings, which will be announced shortly. Members will have the opportunity to review the agreement, ask questions, and vote on its acceptance.
