PROPAIR MEMBERS VOTE TO ACCEPT THE EMPLOYER’S “FINAL OFFER”

March 25, 2022 at 4:41 PM

On March 24, 2022, Unifor Local 2002 conducted two virtual meetings with the Propair membership to discuss the impact of the Employer’s “final offer” and to have its members vote a second time on the agreement. After a day of voting, Unifor Local 2002 would like to announce that the Propair members have voted to accept the Employer’s “final offer”, members voted 61 per cent in favour of the new four-year agreement.

Although the “final offer” has been accepted, we understand that there are some members that were not content with the agreement and would have rather ratified than go on strike.  We know that the fight is not over, and the union will make it clear to the employer that they must do better for our hard-working members.

This vote comes just a week (March 18, 2022) after members voted on the final offer which resulted in a deadlock (50 per cent of the members voted in favour and the other 50 percent voted against the final offer). Today’s vote results conclude an arduous bargaining process that started in July of 2021 and several months of hard work for the bargaining committee.

We understand this has been a long process for the members of Propair and on behalf of the bargaining committee, we thank you for your continued support, patience, and putting your trust in the bargaining committee.
