Propair D421: Negotiations Update

Propair D421: Negotiations Update

December 8, 2025 at 12:00 PM

We would like to follow up with you regarding the bargaining meetings held on December 1, 2, and 3 between Unifor and Propair.

The scope of the demands submitted by both parties means that discussions are progressing more slowly than desired or anticipated. Several of the employer's proposals require special attention, as they could result in the loss of certain important benefits that you currently enjoy. Rest assured that we are carefully analyzing each issue in order to protect your rights and working conditions.

Before moving on to the monetary component of demands, it is essential to finalize all of the non-monetary demands. Everything now indicates that the negotiations will take some time. However, the atmosphere and communication between the two parties remain positive and cordial, which allows us to make constructive progress on these outstanding issues.

Our next bargaining meetings are scheduled for the end of January, then the end of February or March. We are currently working to finalize these dates and will keep you informed as soon as they are confirmed.

We fully understand the frustration that this pace can cause. However, please know that your bargaining committee remains fully mobilized, motivated, and determined to obtain the best possible outcome for all members. Our commitment remains clear: to defend every gain and continue discussions rigorously in order to reach a collective agreement that meets your expectations.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your Unifor team.

Note: to maintain the integrity of the bargaining process, specific details of active discussions cannot be shared at this time.

In solidarity,

Your Unifor Bargaining Committee,
Jad El Bakkar - District Chairperson, Propair, D421
Inès Guessabi, Vice Chairperson
Stephen Lussier, Assistant to the Local 2002 President
Frédéric Auger, National Representative, Unifor Quebec
