Last week, on March 12
th, 2019, your Bargaining Committee met with the membership in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec. At these meetings, we shared and updated the membership on where things stood with the current negotiations. These meetings also provided the opportunity for the members to reiterate their bargaining priorities to the Committee.
Upcoming Meetings with the Conciliation Officer
As you are aware, Unifor filed for Conciliation on
February 20, 2019. Unifor and the Company will be meeting with the Conciliation Officer on the following dates
April 24, 2019, May 14-16, 2019 and May 24, 2019. We are cautiously optimistic that the conciliation process will bring both sides closer, however, we remain committed to working towards a fair agreement for our members.
As always, membership solidarity and support are the key to us achieving a fair and equitable agreement. Thank you to those members that attended the membership meetings.
