After filing for conciliation on May 27, 2022 the Federal Mediation and Conciliation office appointed Susan Fisher as our conciliator to facilitate this process. We are meeting on July 27 and 28 with the conciliator and the employer. We hope that we are able to reach a tentative agreement that we can present and recommend to the Swissport membership.
Due to the last monetary position presented by the employer, we have been given no choice, but to take a strike vote at this time. The employer has stated that their last bargaining offer was not their final offer. We believe we need the full support of the membership to back our monetary proposals during the conciliation process which is a crucial step in reaching an agreement.
It is extremely important that each of you make it your mission to find the time during one of the meetings (scheduled below) to attend and cast your vote. This is your time to show your support for your bargaining committee and send a clear message to your employer.
