This update is in response to the message sent by Brittany Mattix, Vice President of Aviation, dated September 30, 2025.
Conciliation is a normal and important part of the bargaining process. By filing for conciliation, Unifor is ensuring that your voices are heard, and that progress is made at the table.
We are encouraged that the company has expressed its intent to make progress in negotiations and has welcomed the involvement of a federal conciliator. A conciliator brings focus and accountability, helping both sides move closer to securing a fair contract.
Your bargaining committee also wants to clarify an important point from the company’s communication. The company stated that we have met for eight bargaining days, but in fact, we have only met for seven: May 13, May 14, June 24, June 25, July 22, July 23, and July 24.
The employer not only overstated the number of days but also listed incorrect dates. If the company cannot communicate something as straightforward as the number of days we met, it raises real concerns about their commitment to accuracy in the bargaining process.
Despite these challenges, your Unifor bargaining committee remains committed to negotiating in good faith and standing strong for the respectful agreement you deserve. With conciliation, we now have an additional tool to keep the company's attention where it belongs; on reaching a deal for the dedicated members of District 266 who keep the traveling public departing or connecting through Calgary International Airport safe every single day.
Unifor will continue to keep you informed as negotiations move forward. Together, we are stronger, and together, we will achieve a fair agreement.
In Solidarity,
Your Unifor-PASS Bargaining Committee
